Define Your Future Now!
Do you want to do something important with your life - something that provides excitement,
has meaning and enables you to give back to your community? Dedicated to educating
tomorrow's health professionals and researchers, pursuing exciting new biomedical
knowledge, and providing compassionate care for the people of Texas and beyond,
the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston can make all the difference
to your plans for the future. At the UTMB School of Health Professions, you'll not
only get a first-rate education from renowned faculty in a unique location, you'll
also be an important part of health science history.
As the first academic health center in Texas and among the oldest in the nation,
UTMB has helped define health care for generations. In fact, our schools of medicine,
nursing, health professions and biomedical sciences have conferred more than 26,000
degrees throughout their history. The first school of its kind in the Southwest
U.S. when it opened its doors in 1968, the School of Health Professions has helped
carry on this tradition, granting degrees and certificates to more than 6,500 graduates
in such vital areas as health information administration, clinical laboratory sciences,
health care administration, occupational therapy, physical therapy, respiratory
care and physician assistant studies.
In the School of Health Professions at UTMB, you will be much more than a number.
You will be nurtured and respected as an individual - one who will make a real difference
in the lives of others. Come join us, and help Define the Future of Health Care.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to request to have their transcripts sent ELECTRONICALLY
to UTMB whenever possible. This greatly expedites processing and improves the accuracy
of transcript evaluation. The accepted standard for this process in Texas goes by
the name: SPEEDE.
