CERTIFICATION EXAM PASS RATES
Upon completion of all curriculum
requirements with a minimum GPA of 3.0, the designated degree of Master of
Occupational Therapy is conferred. Graduates of the program will be eligible to
sit for the national certification examination for occupational therapists
administered by the National Board for
Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Successful completion of the
NBCOT examination leads to certification by the NBCOT. Graduates are encouraged
to sit for the NBCOT certification exam as soon as possible to increase chances
for successful attainment of certification. Application for the certification
examination includes some questions that relate to felony convictions. For
further information on potential limitation related to felony conviction, the

The total
number of graduates who passed the National Board for Certification in
Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification examination as first-time new
graduate test takers from 2009-2011 was 67 out of 85, which is a pass rate of 78.8%.
During this 3-year time period, the program had 86 graduates. The pass rate for
the most recent graduating class is 93%, with an overall pass rate of 95% within 12 months of graduation.
All graduates passing the NBCOT exam were employed in an OT-related position within six months.
