Bio
Dr. Abreu is a Clinical Professor of
Occupational Therapy and Director of Occupational Therapy at the Transitional
Learning Community in Galveston. She earned her PhD in Occupational
Therapy from New York University. Prior to joining UTMB's faculty, Dr.
Abreu was the Director of Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern
California-University Hospital. She has received many honors for both
practice and research, including being named to the Roster of Merit for
Research, Education, and Clinical Practice by the Texas Occupational Therapy
Association. Her research interests include brain injury rehabilitation,
use of virtual environments in rehabilitation, education, and continued
development of the Quadraphonic Approach to brain injury rehabilitation.
