To be admitted to the UTMB PT Program a student must
undergo an interview. To be interviewed a candidate must qualify for the
interview. To qualify for an interview the candidate must:
| * | Have completed Bachelor's degree or will be completing Bachelor's degree at the end of coming Spring semester. |
| * | Math and Science grade point average - at least 3.0 on 4.0 scale (Students with less than 3.0 may be considered depending on other qualities shown by the applicant in the folder (see Selection Process). |
| * | Overall grade point average (Non Math and Science + Electives) - at least 3.0 on 4.0 scale (Students with less than 3.0 may be considered depending on other qualities shown by the applicant in the folder (see Selection Process). |
| * | Have completed enough UTMB PT pre-requisites and electives so that by taking a normal academic load you will finish the bachelor's degree and pre-requisites before August 2003. |
| * | All Math and Science pre-requisites completed must be less than 10 years old. |

| * | Minimum 40 hours (80 hours is recommended) |
| * | Must be completed before interview |
| * | Must be supervised by a licensed PT |
| * | It helps to have a varied experience |
| * | Try to see PT in at least three of the following settings |
| # Outpatient and Inpatient Orthopedic Rehabilitation | |
| # Outpatient and Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation | |
| # Burns | |
| # Sports Medicine | |
| # Pediatric PT | |
| # Geriatric PT | |
| # Home Health PT | |
| # Cardiopulmonary PT | |
| Some of the interview will pertain to your clinical observations |
| * | One recommendation form must be from supervising PT |
| * | Two recommendation forms from other persons |
| * | HOAE scores are good for only one year |
| * | If you took HOAE last year, you must take it again in the year of your application |
