Attention students applying for the class starting August 2003: We will now be accepting either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Health Occupation Aptitude Exam (HOAE) as the required standardized test scores.

To be admitted to the UTMB Physical Therapy Program in the class starting August, 2003 a student must do the following:

• Complete a Bachelor's Degree or be reasonably sure you will complete the bachelor's degree by August of the year you will start the program.. 
• Complete 120 hours of Pre-requisite courses including 58 hours of specific UTMB pre-requisites.   

To complete the bachelor's degree you need 120 semester hours.  Within those 120 hours you must complete 58 hours of specific UTMB pre-requisites.

You can apply before 120 hrs are completed.  You can apply in the Fall Semester when Fall and Spring semester courses are not completed.

No more than 60 hours of the120 hours can be from a junior college

Please do not request a packet unless you are reasonably sure you are ready to apply.

You are ready to apply when you have completed enough of the UTMB pre-requisites and electives that by taking a normal academic load you will finish in August of the year you will start the program.

 
• Submit results of one of the two following standardized tests:

  -- Health Occupation Aptitude Exam

  -- Graduate Record Examination

• Complete at least 40 hours (80 hours is recommended) of volunteer or paid PT experience (see qualifying for an interview below) 
• Qualify for an Interview
• Undergo the Selection Process
