Mathematics and Natural Sciences - 31 hours

Biology and/or Zoology	8 hours	For science majors Must include lab The Anatomy part of Anatomy/Physiology will not be accepted toward this requirement.
Physiology	4 hours	Must include lab; Must be for science majors. The Physiology part of Anatomy/Physiology can be used to meet this requirement.
College Algebra, Trigonometry, or Calculus	3 hours	Any one of these math courses is acceptable

Statistics	3 hours	Upper level psychology or education based is preferred. Must include ANOVA. Other statistics courses may be considered (see Course Approval Process below)

The following courses are not required, but if taken as electives, would probably make academic life at UTMB-PT go smoother for the student:

		Introduction to Computers		Management
		Anatomy		Technical Writing
		Exercise Physiology (could count toward completion of the physiology requirement)

Physical Education activities classes are neither counted as electives, nor used in the calculation of overall GPA.
Course Substitution Approval Process
The course approval process is a way an applicant may obtain approval of a course that does not exactly meet prescribed requirements. It is the applicant's responsibility to petition the UTMB PT Admissions Committee for course approval. This is done by submitting a letter indicating the request, a course syllabus (not a course description). We may also ask you to submit the textbook used in the course. However, send only the syllabus and your written request initially. If we do ask for the book, the book will returned to the applicant.
Course Approval Deadline - Applicants trying to maintain priority status for admission in the class starting 2003 must petition the Committee for course approval by December 15. Applicants applying after Dec. 15 may petition at any time.
