Raymond Lewis,
Jr, MSW ACSW - Associate Dean for SAHS Admissions & Student Affairs
Responsibilities: Provide and direct student services for allied health
students. Project principle investigator for the Health Careers Opportunity
Program (HCOP) for recruitment and retention of under represented students
pursuing and completing degrees in the allied health sciences. Grant
reviewer for Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
Represents the university at major events including orientation and
commencement of allied health students. Responsible for policies and
procedures within the Office of Student Affairs including legal, financial,
and student support. Member of the SAHS Deans Council, SAHS Chairs Council
and SAHS Academic Executive Committee.
Jeff Baker,
Ph.D. - Director Counseling & Student Services
Responsibilities: 504 Coordinator for SAHS; Coordinate SAHS Counseling
services; Coordinate SAHS student participation in commencement; coordinate
SAHS new student orientations; Member SAHS APT Committee; Teach Clinical
Psychiatry class and Sexual Health & Rehabilitation Class and a variety of
lectures on psychological interventions for Physician Assistants,
Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists. Chief Psychologist for
the Anesthesiology Pain Clinic; Cardiothoracic Surgery; Orthopedic Spine
Surgery; and GI Internal Medicine. Director, UTMB Psychology Fellowship
Program; Member UTMB IRB Committee; Member UTMB Pain Committee; Original
member of 1st UTMB Faculty Senate. Available for consultation to UTMB
students, faculty and staff. Member Board of Directors of the Association
of Psychology Postdoctoral & Internship Centers (APPIC); Member Board of
Directors of Association of Medical School Psychologists.
Phyllis
Jendrusch, M.S. - Associate Director of SAHS Student Services
Responsibilities: Assist in administration of Student Affairs functions;
Coordinate HCOP special projects; Provide academic and personal support for
students and consultation for faculty; Advise student organizations and
provide leadership training; Coordinate Magnolia Kids project; Teach classes
in Critical Thinking, Leadership and Group Dynamics, Professional
Presentation and Cultural Competence; Provide consultation and training in
job search strategies and skills; Member UTMB Diversity Training team and
UTMB Mediation team; Serve on UTMB Ethics committee; Serve on internal
boards for Pathways to Career Success and UTMB Theatre Education and
Outreach program; Serve as officer and/or member of external boards for the
American Heart Association, the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston
County, the 1894 Grand Opera House and Temple B’Nai Israel.
